Entertaiment is a broad category of activities and events. It includes anything that is perceived as enjoyable and/or amusing by an audience, regardless of the actual underlying meaning or social purpose. The word entertainment derives from the Medieval Latin inter tenere, from the prefix inter (inside) and the suffix tenere (to hold).
According to Oliver and Barstsch and Bates and Ferri (2010) entertainment can be defi ned as consumer activity that is understood objectively, com prises communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience and occurs in a passive form.
